Gynecomastia; Men and women both contain breast tissue, and in some situations, this tissue may be larger than it should be. Gynecomastia is the medical term for this condition. Gynecomastia is the growth of the chest area in men caused by food, exercise, or hormonal weight gain. It should not be confused with the development of the chest muscles. Gynecomastia can appear in adolescence or later in life. Gynecomastia can appear in adolescence or later in life. Breast tissue change during adolescence is influenced by hormones and can be reversed by lowering hormone levels to normal after puberty. Due to a decline in male hormone levels and weight gain, the volume of adipose tissue and mammary glands in the breasts increases as people age. The enlarged extra sections of the mammary glands are removed if gynecomastia is caused by enlargement of the mammary glands. Liposuction is used to treat gynecomastia, which is caused by an increase in fat tissue. 

The surgical repair of overdeveloped or enlarged breasts in men is known as gynecomastia surgery, sometimes known as male breast reduction. An imbalance of the hormones estrogen and testosterone causes an increase in the quantity of breast gland tissue in men. Gynecomastia sometimes unevenly can affect one or both breasts. Normal fluctuations in hormone levels can produce uneven breast growth in newborns, boys going through puberty, and older males, though there are other explanations as well. Gynecomastia isn’t a life-threatening disorder, but it can be difficult to live with. Men’s breasts can hurt and make them feel self-conscious.

The liposuction procedure leaves no scar after gynecomastia surgery. The process of liposuction can be used to cure some levels of sagging skin as well. The skin is reduced after the procedure. Even sagging breasts can be repaired without any scars using the liposuction procedure. A tiny incision is made on each side of the chest. Incisions may be made along a section of the areola’s edge or within the armpit, depending on your needs and your cosmetic surgeon’s chosen approach. Your cosmetic surgeon will use these incisions to remove extra fat and/or glandular tissue while also sculpting a new chest contour that looks natural to your body. Due to anesthetic, nothing should be consumed, including water, until at least 12 hours before the operation.

Dressings or bandages will be placed to your incisions during your gynecomastia surgery recovery period, and a support corset must be used for few weeks to reduce swelling and support your new chest contour while it heals.

A short, thin tube can be inserted beneath the skin to drain any extra blood or fluid that has accumulated.
