Dr. Erol Vural was born in Kırşehir in 1974. He completed his primary and secondary education at Kırşehir Cacabey Elementary School and Ankara Aydınlıkevler İnönü Anatolian High School, respectively, after moving to Ankara. In 1992, he passed the university entrance exam and was accepted into Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, where he graduated in 1998. He passed the first medical specialization exam (TUS) and was accepted into Süreyyapaşa Chest Surgery, and later passed the second exam and was accepted into the General Surgery Department at Göztepe Education and Research Hospital. After completing his 5-year general surgery specialization, he worked for two years at Erzurum Palandöken State Hospital due to mandatory service.

Dr. Vural worked as a clinical fellow in Obesity and Metabolic Surgery at Karolinska University in Sweden. Afterwards, he performed metabolic and bariatric (obesity) surgeries for 500 patients with diabetes and obesity problems at Istanbul Bağcılar Education and Research Hospital, Esenyurt State Hospital, and Taksim German Hospital Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Clinic in 2013-2014. He worked at Kolan International Hospital and currently performs metabolic (diabetes) and bariatric (obesity) surgeries at Istanbul Özel Ataköy Hospital. Dr. Vural is married, has two children, and lives in Istanbul.
